Weekend Memory
Building Blocks!
Brightly colored building blocks covering our table. As I drink my cup of coffee my daughter comes up to me with several blocks in her hand.
“See it’s Superman!” she announces excitedly. She hands “Superman” over. “It’s for you.”
“Thank you, honey.” She smiles and goes back to her blocks. I take another sip and after a few moments she’s back.
“It’s a dog.” I smile because it really does look like a dog, with a snout and four legs.Â
“That looks great honey!” She hands it to me and walks away again. At this point I could no longer contain myself.
“Can I play with you?” I ask and she nods excitedly. We began building a house with a front yard and a swimming pool. She made the mailbox and the car for the driveway.Â
It turned out to be a major construction, with several laughs and lots of direction from the small architect. Â
Another special moment. One that reminded me of my dad and my legos.
Thank you Lani for letting me play with you, it was great! And thanks Grandma for such a wonderful gift!

That sounds like a great moment. I’m looking forward to doing these types of things with my daughter. Then I can bust out the Lincoln Logs.

Poppy has just come in and asked who was on the photo. I told her that the photo was a daughter of a friend. Poppy asked if she could go and play with her.
If only it were that simple.

Paul - It was a great moment. Trust me, you will have a blast.
Caroline - Aww! That was touching and saddening at the same time. Tell her they’ll meet someday, I promise.
